Shiter Town

Welcome to Shifter Town!

Shifter town is a place where all shifters are welcome. In this day and age there are still myths and legends. However some are slowly coming to light. The first to come out to the humans are the Shifters. Beings that look and talk like humans but who can change into creatures. Some are made to change only into one Animal. Others are able to change into whatever animal they wish to. They came out a year ago on national television. Some of the humans reacted savagely and hunted the Shifters while others took it with grace. Now around different major cities, Shifter towns are opening up. The main shifter town is right outside New Orleans. And that is where these stories take place.

Shifters are allowed to leave the towns but must be back to their cities by 10 o’clock and must not leave the city at all during a full moon. Some rare shifters are able to transform into whatever they see including other humans. However those are truly rare shifters.

Terms you might need to know:
Pack Master- The pack master is the one that enforces all the rules of Shifter town. He/She makes sure you are back when you’re supposed to be, your safe, and if you do something bad you will be punished by him or her.

Beta-The second in Command. This position is for the one that will help the pack master enforce the rules.

Omega-The one that is usually at the lowest of the pack but is also neither dominant or submissive. Though usually wise for the Omega to listen to the Pack Master and the Beta. There is usually only one of these in a shifter town.

The more dominant a wolf is the higher in the pack it is. The more submissive the lower it is.

Shifters have been oout in the human world 2 years now.

Phoebe had been unpacking all day since 8am that morning. The move from Phoenix the day before had wore her out, but still she was use to moving. Since she was 18 she had lived in 7 different towns, all over the country. Mostly because people had gotten suspicious about her ways. She had been drove out of Dover because they though she was a witch. In Portage, Ohio her neighbor reported her to to police saying she was a stalker or something because she never left the house. Other towns were almost always the same thing. Then, 2 years ago, someone stupid of her kind had came out to humans. She was found out about almost 4 months after all shifters were to be in "Shifter Towns." She was thrown in the one outside of Phoenix but when things started getting bad there she chose to move. This one seemed promising..

She was sick of unpacking when she looked over at the clock. It was almost 3 and she was hungry. Slipping on her flip flops she made her way down the old warehouse elevator. When this area was turned into a shifter town a lot of business buildings were turned into lofts. She loved her floor, she was high enough to see over most of the buildings and the view was gorgeous. She stepped out of the cold building and was hit with instant heat.
"Should be use to that after 2 years in Arizona..." she mumbled while she started down the street. A few had given her a strange look but kept on going. A few blocks down she found a deli. She grabbed a sandwich and decided to walk around the town. Two streets down she found the "Rich" neighbor hood. She walked around for awhile after finishing her sandwich and came across a house with what looked like guards at the door. She had found the pack leaders house and figured one introducing herself.

Phoebe started to to make her way to the door. On the first step she was stopped by a guard. He looked her over a few times, she figured looking for a weapon of some kind. She really didn't have a place to hide any. Her hair had been cropped short a few months ago so her red locks looked like flames atop her head. Her top was a dust blue wrap with long sleeves and it was very low cut. She wore a pair of black leggings that meet a little bit of her the bottom of her knees. They were her favorite because of the red ribbon corset tie on the back, at the very bottom of the legs. A small red skirt that barley touched her thighs was over top of the leggings. On her tight stomach there was a silver and red charmed belly button ring hanging from her navel. She smiled at the guard while her emerald eyes sparkled.
"State you business with pack leader Arnold?" the guards voice was a deep bark
"Just moved in, I would like to introduce myself to him. Names Phoebe." She stuck a hand on her hip and leaned to on side.

Arnold closed his eyes, relaxing for the first time in ages. His body was stretched full out, flowing over it as it was too short for his long body. He closed his eyes; his body was half shifted for he was very comfortable. His most normal shape was that of a giant wolf. However he was a rare shifter that could turn into the last thing he saw. Including becoming a dragon to even a unicorn. However his main form was that of a great black wolf with piercing green eyes.

He gave a wolf’s version of a purr as his tail flicked under him. His guards where outside, so he did not have to worry so much about being protected right this moment. Of course he was a light sleeper and as soon as a foot touched his yard he had sensed the creature. Well person really but it was a shapeshifter as well. He gave a small growl as he smelled the unfamiliar smell. He sighed and just gave a small nod as a guard came in to see if he wanted a visitor. However he didn’t move for he was quite comfortable where he was.

Arnold’s green orbs turned slightly as he saw the female, raising his brow. “I take it you are the new shifter. Phoebe correct?” He motioned with his hand to the chair near him. He had a small living room but it was filled with furniture, even a small tv. For some reasons shifters weren’t allowed all the normal things the humans were so the tv was out of date, had only local channels and his laptop was a old dinosaur that could only do menial tasks. Of course right now his attention was on the female in front of him. His eyes darkened slightly as he looked at her. There were more males then females in the shitertowns but he wasn’t thinking of her in the sexual sense. Only that she was new and was new to his town.

As he was relaxing and not expecting visitors he was in just shorts. The shorts had a hole in the back cause of his wolf tail. It would have hurt if he didn’t have the hole and because of unexpected things like this he wasn’t purely naked. Most shifters did not mind nudity since you had to strip before changing unless you wanted to buy more clothes. He was also very comfortable in his body. He tilted his head as he watched her, his short black hair covering his eyes for a moment before he moved it out of the way. His body of course was that of perfection, well tanned, well muscled and very lethal if needed. Of course he was a skinny guy and so the muscle was not like those body builders but he was defiantly strong.

"I am" Phoebe bowed her head in an respectful manor. "Got here last night" She smiled

Her smile was a nice, pretty but small smile. When she looked the pack leader and was thankful of his dress. She didn't feel under dressed now, after all she had been unpacking all morning and she was not expecting to come across the leaders house.

"I was taking a walk, checking out the town when I came across your home. The last town I was in the pack leader live on the top of a man mad hill. Away from anyone, so I didn't expect you to be living so close to the others. You must be more down to earth then the others." With her tone someone might have thought she was a child. Her accent and voice would throw you off however. She was born in Virgina but when her parents died she was fostered in a home in New Jersey. She had a small accent since she didn't live there all her life, but it was still enough to know she was from the small state.

"I am Phoebe Taika, though I figure you know that." She laughed a little under her breath as she looked the topless shifter over. He was handsome and fit and for the first time she found herself attracted to a man.
She didn't care for men much. Her biological father was barley around before his death. He had worked 2 jobs trying to provide for the family. Her foster family had more money, but her foster father had a thing for little girls. Her and her 4 other sister, 3 his own and 1 other adopted, were mentally; physical; and sexually abused. When she was 18 and reported him for it, it had saved the 2 younger then her. He had been arrested and put behind bars but her sisters hated her for it. Her foster mother killed herself soon after and her sisters were taken away to be adopted. She had not seen any of that family since she had left and went across the country.

Arnold watched her smile, giving a small smile back. “I am sorry that I am not sitting up but we had to hunt down a rogue pack the other night and I’m still recovering. It was a small group and was taken out quickly so for now we are safe from those that believe shifter towns are wrong. Of course I wish things were different but we can’t change what has happened.”

He shrugged and looked at her with his bright green eyes. His head was tilted slightly as he watched the female. When she spoke he chuckled softly. “I hope I a more down to earth. You can’t be a good pack leader when the one’s you want to protect are afraid of you or at least are so far below or level of acknowledging that all you do is walk over them. That’s not being a leader.” He listened to her accents and smiled slightly. He had been all over the US and even across the country. He had moved enough that he no longer had an accent.

“Arnold Seric. Nice to meet you.” He had read up on the female as he did anyone that applied to move to his shifter town. He made sure all would be in a relatively good home and at least be stable enough for the environment. Not that there where many incidences in his town but every now and then a shifter rouge or his pack would try and take the town. Mostly so they can kill who they called ‘traitors’. He gave a yawn as he tried to sit up before one of his guards came back in and forced him back down. He rose a brow. “What?”

The guard shook his head, “You need to stay down. You aren’t fully healed I can smell the blood on your back. You’re to stay there for another couple of hours.” Arnold sighed and went back into the couch. “Thank you mother.” He smirked at the guard who just nodded and went back to his position outside. He sighed and turned to the girl. “My guards… they don’t like me hurt apparently.” He chuckled softly as he moved so that he could look at her more, his tail wagging lightly.

Phoebe smiled.

"Sadly they are right." She shifted a little on her feet. "No one wants you hurt. You can't be much of a leader if you are injured permitting or worse. And don't worry about not sitting up, I was not truly expecting anything."
He was sweet but he was a pack leader and no commoner would be caught dead with a leader. Like most societies the rich married the rich, royal marry other royalty. Phoebe wasn't poor, she made enough money doing odd end jobs that she had nice things for her home before she was a shifter. Strangely the humans didn't take that from her. They took enough to make a big enough impact though, her pride and freedom were gone. Next thing you know they would be ordering the shifters to wear collars or something. That would be when she would fight. She wasn't an animal...

"Is nice to see someone like you as a pack leader. Most of the packs I read about talk about high up on their horse the others are." she thought about the stories and such she had read.
"But all societies have their corrupt members huh." Phoebe sighed and let her hands fall to her hips.

Arnold chuckled softly as he listened to her. "I can still protect even in pain it just takes awhile to heal in human form and i dont want to risk changing and making it worse instead of better." he smiled as her as she spoke and saw her shift on her feet. "You can sit, i dont bite.. much." He smiled as he looked at her.

"Thank you for the compliment. I truly dont like class discrimination. Especially when it comes to the shifters. Im working on trying to get everyone to this part of the neighborhood so that not everyone is stuck in the crap that the humans gave us. But until everything is ready sadly some have to make do like you." he frowned slightly lost in thought for a moment. "Your place should be ready in a months time if you are willing to wait that long. I know some would rather not move and have stayed in the buildings, fixng them up as much as they can." He looked at her. No he really didnt like class.

"If you need help just ask the guards and anyone you see. We help each other around here even though the guards mostly stay outside when im like this. Figure might as well let them stay since they wont listen to me telling them to go." he made the last part loud and just got a snort from all three guards. "See?" He smiled before looking at her agian. "im not a invalid though they treat me like one when it will only take a day to heal."

She sat when he offered.
"Well why don't you?" she asked "Shift that is. If you let me look I can help. Check it and tell you if it would make it worse. I am sure it wouldn't though, if you are anything like me you will be healed up in no time even if you do make it a little worse. I don't know if your guards would approve of me though.." she cocked her head to the side.

"Truly I like my house. Its not a bad loft and I like the extra work to make it nicer. You can allow someone else to move into my house, someone needs it more then I." she smiled and looked the man over again. She didn't like class either but that was something that came with money. Of course everyone needed money to live. She sighed, tis error is to live.
