Lilorian (not finished)
World: Lilorian
Physical: The day's light beams, but not blindingly so. The world is ignited with life as each animal awakes from their slumber. The grey-white sky is cloudless, leaving the sun in clear view. The inhabitants are used to seeing the sun's rays throughout each day and their eyes have adapted accordingly. The night time is rather dark, but the darkened purple sky, being endlessly embellished with red stars provides enough light to the races that dwell.
Geography: Lilorian consists of varied geographic areas ranging from, but not limited to, mountains, oceans, beaches, forests, hills, plains, underground tunnels, rivers, lakes, etc etc.
Inhabitants: Lilorian is inhabited by a few select, but vast races. These include humans, dwarves, elves, gnomes, and weres. For the most part they all stay within their sections, but there are of course exceptions and occasionally they will be found mixed in with other races, but it is not common-practice.
Humans: Humans are the most balanced of all the races. There is nothing particularly interesting about their racial abilities, as far as that goes, they are average. However, the human race is the most diverse when it comes to classes and jobs, and architecture as well as tactics. They have many resources at their disposal and make use of whatever it is they can. Humans tend to be any alignment.
Dwarves: Dwarves can be very uptight. They are short tempered and do not do well in groups of other races. They are stubborn and like to work their way. Hard, efficient, with very little rest. Dwarves are naturally stronger than other races, but they lack in speed. Dwarves are afraid of magic, but don't let that deter you; they are excellent craftsmen and have special skills in enchanting weapons, armor, and the likes. They are great at close combat and even some range tactics. Dwarves are charismatic, but in a very harsh and sarcastic way. They also hate elves. Primarily, they reside in the mountains or underground.
Elves: Elves are the wise and intelligent ones. Sometimes, however, that will hold them back. They may choose the safer route for themselves, instead of getting the task at hand done. While they excel at magic and the occult arts, they lack in strength. Elves are versatile in combat, making use of range, close combat, and magic all at once. They also feel right at home in the forests and usually stay there as much as possible. Not as fearless as dwarves, elves are much more cautious and "scared" to go venturing alone. Elves have keen eyesight and senses, but they do get sick easier than most and are susceptible to common ailments and disease.
Gnomes: If gnomes get along with anyone the best, it would have to be the dwarves. Gnomes are also excellent craftsmen and builders. They are hard workers too, but work a bit differently than dwarves. They tend to be more focused on the group effort. Gnomes are generally a sneaky and devious race. While they don't have the awesome man-power that dwarves and humans have, they are keen on developing traps, and bases to their advantage, as well as a wide array or new items, magical or mundane. gnomes are not so strong with magic. Their care-free attitudes keep them from truly learning the occult arts as would an elf, but they do have basic abilities to help them. Gnomes are strong, but not too fast. They are also short, giving them advantages in sticky kinds of situations.
Weres: Changers of the animal. They are most different from the other humanoid races, because they can change form. Weres are naturally balance, like humans are, but when they are in their animal forms, they change their entire self. Combat is to their advantage when in the animal form, often times they will work together with other animals or members of their kind to take out an opponent. Weres sometimes struggle with society, thus some are prone to living out in the wild, while others tend to be more civilized. Most commonly, weres are chaotic, and even when lawful, they do have a chaotic tendency or two. Weres use magic to their ability as well, but of course not as well as the elves. They use magic for deceptive and advantageous opportunities, mostly. Weres naturally get along with any race.

Re: Lilorian (Medieval fantasy)
STORYLINE[center][b]
It was yet another dark and lonely night. The castle had been mostly emptied as the guards were called to scout the outskirts of the city for any other invaders. The war had been dwindling down, finally, but it wasn’t quite over. With the reddened sun completely gone, the moon shone brightly, and that gave Raphael comfort. He best worked in the night time, with very few distractions around. The drawbridge was up, and the windows all closed. It was raining and the castle’s stone walls were drenched. Raphael found no obvious entry yet, but he was determined. Listening closely to the streets behind him, he heard minimal murmurs. Most of the town was probably too scared to come outside at night due to the numerous barbarain raids that joined the forces of Syndor. Not Raphael. He was fearless, a leader, if only to himself. That’s how he worked. The muddy ground beneath him began to sink his feet, to which he slowly repositioned as to not make a sound. He saw no guards in his near proximity, but he was cautious to a smaller scout or someone not dressed in that heavy clanky armor. If the castle was left unguarded…well they just signed their death warrant. He smiled at that thought. Could it really be that they left no one here? He didn’t think it was likely, but a possibility nonetheless. He decided to take the smarter choice and plan as if it were in fact heavily guarded.
He krept, crouching as low as he could to his left. His ears were like eyes in back of his head, and his real eyes were very sharp right now. He examined every detail of his path making sure there were no sudden traps or something to obstruct his movement. His right arm spread out just a little to hold his balance, all the while he heard a brisk rustling. He froze, immediately his body pumped with adrenaline. He was ready to instantly take his dagger to the person’s throat that was very close by. A few agonizing moments, that felt like hours passed, and he suddenly head a faint “meow.” Just a cat! He breathed in deeper, relaxing and calming himself once again.
Finally he made his way to the back of the castle. He looked up, back against the prickly bushes. The castle towered much higher than he had though when he looked at it from afar. The rain’s onslaught hadn’t quite stopped, but it did come a little lighter. Raphael placed his hands on the greay stones in front of him and expertly felt them with his fingertips, and glided his had across them. Being very methodic in his work, he slowly began to scale the wall. He kept his eyes focused on the highest window, the one in which the blueprints marked to where the king would most likely be. His hands and feet moved skillfully, meticulously, in the very same fashion in which he had been trained in, for many years. He struggled to keep his footing, as the craftsmanship of the castles architecutre was very expertly built. There were almost no crevices big enough for his feet and hands, but there were indeed a few, probably from the natural harsh weathering that Mynia experienced. His eyes stayed locked onto the window sill he was headed for. Finally, his two hands reached up to grab the thin ledge. He listened as best he could. The rain and the closed window failed to help him, however. He would have to take his chances. He slowly perked his head up and looked inside the window.
The room was very clean. In it, he only saw a bed and a desk, in which the king sat. He knew it was the king by the crescent moon symbol on the back of his black cape. The king, Yemont, was currently scribing something with a fountain ink pen and hadn't taken notice of anything outside of the room. The bed was high above the ground and supported by 4 beams and a grand backboard with intricate inlays within the wood. To the right of Yemont was a huge crystal ball. which rested on a wooden tripod. The crystal ball lay still, plainly. Raphael assumed it was some sort of scrying device. Finally, ready to get a move on the plan, he tapped on the glass window three times. Yemont looked up and froze. He slowly stood up and came to the window. At that instant, Raphael took his kukri and launched it as hard as possible. The window broke right in Yemont's face, sending him back as the kukri as well, cut him. Raphael hurled himself upward and easily fit through the window. Yemont, bleeding in the face, quickly drew his longsword and began slashing and Raphael. Raphael, having the advantage was ready for such an attack, so he rolled out of the way and dragonswept Yemont. Yemont fell on his back and swung his sword at Raphael's legs. He jumped up onto the king's desk and waited. The king came to his feet, held his sword upward and came striking down fast. Raphael backed up slightly, and the sword stuck into the king's desk. At which point, Raphael launched out with a flying sidekick to Yemont's face, nearly knocking him unconscious. He knelt at the ground beside Yemont and held his dagger to his through. "This is for my brother," Raphael said with conviction. A moment later, the King's head lulled motionlessly.
The door opened and in came a dark figure. It wore a long black cloak, covering all of his face, all that could see was the hand that carried the staff in which he leaned on for support. The time has come young Raphael. Our time. He walked close to the crystal ball next to the desk and began to examine it. Raphael barely took notice of his words and was already looting the room and filling his pockets.
"I must go, Mazerin. My colleagues are expecting me back."
"Be careful, you will have a whole lot looking for your head now," He smiled back. "If you ever need my services, you know where to find me." With that he let out a sinister chuckle. Raphael left the same way he had come in. Mazerin casted small incantations on the crystal ball, dispelling all magic and creating his own now. With the crystal ball, he could look over the city, and slowly begin to sieze control, methodically. Lilorian would slowly fall under his hands and his control, but he was not the strongest wizard in the land. He struggled to win it over completely, but that is what he intended to do and will stop at nothing to finish his job.
Quick version: Raphael, an assassin, teamed up with the wizard Mazerin to infiltrate the castle of Mynia. Slowly Mazerin is controlling and consuming the city, and it is growing more chaotic and corrupted as the days pass.

Re: Lilorian (Medieval fantasy)
The forest was thick for miles, but finally the man reached the clearing he was looking for. Light brown tree stumps, perhaps from centuries before, formed a perfect circle around the only Red Ash tree in all of the forest; The tree that is said to be the mother of all trees and father to the animals that dwell near. The man took a seat on one of twelve tree stumps. Out of breath and noticeable signs of weariness across his face, he supported himself with his elbows to his thighs. The squirrels and chipmunks all came around him, yet kept their distance. Children of the mother of trees, they were curious at this weary young man.
He had walked for days, and his mind, wanting to shut down completely, could not. His body, on the other hand was an endurance machine, and was not quite worked to the failure point. He had to reach Lilorian by the next sun (approx. 12 more hours). His long hair dangled heavily, weighing his neck down, but he knew he had to keep going to reach the town. His business was buried in the back of his mind from the weight of his traveling. He could not even think about it because his intense focus was too hard to break. Even when he would rest, he would have very easy times falling asleep.
One squirrel broke away from the pack that congregated in his near proximity. It sniffed the air around this peculiar man and hopped onto his knee and studied him. The man looked back at it and smiled at the peace and warmth that welcomed him. It healed him to an extent, even if it was just all "in his head," he still felt different. The grey squirrel nestled with the man who proceeded to pet it. Acceptingly, the squirrel enjoyed it and relaxed. It was this moment that the man would cherish for the rest of his journey.
His dire need to reach Lilorian rang in his mind, like bells ringing 2 feet in front of him. It sent waves throughout his brain and body, down his spine and through every blood vessel. He was not a man to give up, he was not the man to forget his deeds. He was responsive and active, determined and positive. He was a man of strength and courage. He was the one whom embraced the danger that was unknowingly imminent. His name was Riven.
He furrowed his brows above his green eyes as if a switch had been pulled. His rest became readiness. Standing up, his legs wobbled but he stayed tight. The Red Ash tree in front of him reflected the dwindling sunlight, like a beacon amongst an ocean. The light traveled and proceeded to tint his forest green tunic. Riven cherished this feeling as well. Checking for his weapons to be in place and intact, he took another deep breath and moved forward, slowly. The guiding forces were around him, so he hoped they would stay throughout the night, for his troubled journey to Lilorian truly began now.

Re: Lilorian (Medieval fantasy)
Kostka sat quietly in her chair, her finger rubbing against her lips as they moved, forming the words on the page without tone. A gruffing sound came from the floor next to her causing her to unconsciously drop her free hand down below the armrest. A soft warm tongue licked her fingers before a silky nose shoved her hand up and onto a head.
"Naranbaatar..." She murmured as she gazed down at a small dragon. "I am studying..."
Naranbaatar whined causing Kostka to sighed heavily before she slid of of her chair to scratch the dragon more thoroughly. "You can be such an attention crave-err..." She put her forehead against the dragons and smiled. "Where would I be without you...?"
After some thorough loving she stood back up, her knees a little stiff from crouching on the floor, and slid back into her chair. She continued to read, reciting the words without sound was a powerful thing and she was not ready to test what she was learning. She learned quickly always, pulling in information faster than any of the others in her class. not only had she learned her class training but she learned parts of the other class training that should have been off limits to her; it was only be a stroke of luck from her parents was she open to both fields of training for as long as she had. Her mind wandered momentarily as she thought about home, her heart ached slightly in the want and need to return but she had left for training and she would not return until she was better at what she was suppose to do.
Rotating her neck around she closed her eyes and sighed, reading the books she had acquired from good sources was harder than she thought, but she was determined and refused to give up and try the "easier" books they had told her to start on; there was no time for the "easier".

Re: Lilorian (Medieval fantasy)
Teeth, claws, tearing, shredding... Pain erupting for parts of her body that hadn't been hurt physically but hurt from the connection she shared with another.
"Stupid elf girl..." A dark voice hissed as he kicked her side, bones crunched as pain caused sparkles in her eyes.
A pained growl sounded from her partner as she felt him move in front of her. He was in more pain than she was and yet he was still trying to protect her even if it meant his life. Even if she survived his death there was no way she would survive what would happen to her after.
"Naran..." She murmured as blood trickled past her lips. "Run..."
The dark voice laughed, other joining him. "Too bad she's too old, they pay good money for young elf girls. Especially ones from the elusive Adinbonda clan."
"Mmm.... What lovely pale skin..." Another sneered as he stepped closer, Naranbaatar lashed out with teeth and claws keeping them away from her.
"Stupid dragon..." The first one hissed angrily as he kicked the dragon harder, dubbling Kostka's own pain as she felt Naran's bones crack.
Naran pushed to his feet and growled again; he would defend her to death. Tears filled her eyes from both pain and emotions. She had never accepted Naranbaatar and yet here he was defending her even if it meant his death; it tugged on her heart more than she had accepted it would. 'If we ever get out of this alive I swear on the Goddess and her Consort that I will not only accept my dragon and my fate as a caster but I will study and become the best caster in my clan.'
The men laughed as the beat the little dragon until he could no longer stand leaving Kostka alone; there was no need to even lay a finger on her for all the pain dealt to her familiar was also dealt to her. "What a waste of virgin skin... Oh well, there's nothing we can do about it now. Let's go..." The leader sneered as he gave one last switch kick to Kostka's side, sending her rolling off only to land against her dragon.
"Nar...an...baa...tar...." She managed as her fingers found the dragon's head. "I'm... so... sorry..." She cried as she squeezed weakly. "I failed you... as a friend... as a caster... as a healer... I should... have been stronger... for you..." Tears fell from her eyes unchecked as she rubbed her Naranbaatar.
'Please...' She begged. 'Please Goddess give me the strength to save him... Give me the power of the Earth to heal my Naranbaatar... Let him live... Please... I don't care what happens to me, but please... help me save him..." She opened her mind to the ability she has had since birth but denied for so long. The ability to received the Earth magic that was in every living thing and just let it flow into her and through her.
Though she did not need to be touching her dragon because they had been connected spiritually since their births, she felt the power pass through her hand and her connection to him. healing him, saving him and in return saving her.
She thanked the Goddess and knew that there would be nothing to keep her from keeping her promise.
Kostka jolted awake as Naranbaatar watched her face with concern. "It's okay..." She murmured to the dragon. "It's just been a very long time since I remembered that day..."
She stood, stretching out her stiff muscles as she realized she had fallen asleep on the books. Shaking her head she closed the books and walked around her small house.
"We're expecting company Naran... I guess I should make sure the spare rooms are made up enough for someone to sleep in." She cringed at the thought of going into the rooms. They were wrecked with books and other study materials that she had acquired for her long hard task of bettering herself as a healer and a caster.
