Ahere shook her head with a smile. She had a moment of thinking about Batman and Robin as Devin summoned her off to their "crime fighting" or just crazed day of shopping.

"Come wonder boy..." She murmured as she followed Devin, grabbing her own purse. "To the Batmobile."

As they walked up the stairs she checked the meager amount of money in her wallet and the un-cashed check she had still in her purse. She had more money to spend for herself now that she was living with Devin, but she was still getting use to it. She had even forgotten to cash her check once again because she was use to giving to to her father and getting only a few bills back.

"Are we walking or are you conning your father into letting you drive?"

Devin cocked her head and one eyebrow to Ahere's comment, "wonderboy..?" she mumbled under her breath before racing past Ahere outside.

"I have a surprise!" she called racing around the house and stopped at the corner. She turned and smiled at the other girl. Her hand was dug into her bag and clutched around a pair of keys that belonged to a old jeep in the driveway that Ahere had yet to see...

"Wonderboy. You know, like Batman...?"Ahere answered before Devin raced off. "Geez..." She sighed as she pushed her hair from her eyes. "For someone who was all grouchy ten seconds ago you can certainly dash up those stairs without a hitch."

She followed her friend through the house at her own slower pace as she shook out her muscles. She was feeling a little stiff after the workout, or maybe that was the cold. Rubbing her shoulders she pursed her lips as Devin called out about some surprise she had.

"What in the blue wonders could you have as a surprise?" Ahere questioned as she opened the door to go out to the driveway. "You know you've never been good at keeping secrets." Ahere blinked when she saw the old Jeep that Devin was standing by. "What is that...?"

She eyed the Jeep suspiciously and wondered where Devin would have gotten the thing. "Did you buy that or bribe your father into getting it for you...? Better yet, did you off your own brother for his car??"

"I bought it. Well dad took my money and bought it for us. To get back and forth, so on. Its old but it works, I settled for a used one since I knew you would yell if I bought something new." She danced a little in place and pranced off to the driver side door.

"Next in line is getting you a license!" She smiled and slid into the car.

Ahere spied the Jeep suspiciously as she considered whether or not Devin was hiding a new car under an old exterior but sighed and shook her head before hoping up into the car. "As if I would have the money to pay for driving lessons for that permit." She grumbled as she strapped in.

"So I say shopping for clothing first and then food. I know how long you take when we get going in the clothing department and I don't need the milk spoiling or some random frozen treats going bad because we left them in the car while you go on your frenzy." She said she she leaned back.

"Maybe the bank first so I can drop off this check..." She mumbled with a slight blush.

"Here..." She leaned over and opened the glove compartment. She grabbed the booklet that was inside and through it into Ahere's lap, then shut the compartment. "Training booklet and papers to sign up for the free Driver's Ed at school. Its free, and you get a discount on insurance." she smiled and turned the car on.

"No more excuses." she laughed and turned to look out the back window to back the car out of the drive way.

"To the bank then!" she smiled and pushed the car into drive.

Ahere laughed while shaking her head. "You're nuts for thinking I can drive..." She muttered as they sped off to the bank and then to the mall.

After parking they made their way into the mall and looked around. Ahere pursed her lips and shivered. "Awfully cold in here... So... which store first?"

"Here!" she grabbed Ahere and pulled her into a store that had winter items out front. She fingered through a few coats and pulled out a light blue one. "Hmmm..." She held it against her friend. "I like it."

Devin smiled and handed the coat to Ahere, then turned back to mousing the racks. "I want a nice stripped sweater.." she grummbled. After a few failed racks she pulled out a dark grey and black striped knit sweater. "Well?" she smiled and held it up to herself. Glancing in the mirror before turning to the girl.

"Gray and black are your colors." Ahere answered as she thumbed through another rack and pulled how a cream sweater. Admiring the little lace pattern on the front panels she shrugged and hung it back up before sifting through the jackets. She tossed a red winter coat at her friend that had fake fur on the hood.

"Looks just like you." She said without facing her friend to hide the smile.

Devin growled at Ahere then chucked the coat at the back of her head. "I can get a 'hair cut' and you can make a coat out of that is you want." she used finger quotes and giggled going back to that rack. "I like that blue one on you!"

"OH LOOK!" Devin squealed a few moments later and pushed a bright pink coat against her. "Is it me!?" she laughed

Ahere carefully hung the jacket that Devin had thrown at her head up then flattening out her hair before skimming over some sweaters in vibrant jewel tones; she was tempted to just get one of every color.

At Devin's words she turned around to spy a bright pink winter jacket. She snorted then stifled the laughter before she put on a serious face and said. "I think it looks marvelous on you. You'd freak everyone out if you showed up to work or school in a pink fur lined jacket with white jeans, white snow boots and some other color top."

Devin made a gagging noise before hanging the coat back up. "I should get it, I have a white pair of jeans... its more actually getting me to wear them together... more so out in public." she laughed and pulled out a mint green coat.

"I like this." she said staring at the coat.

"You could wear them as a Halloween outfit. Get like a slightly darker pink top and a nice pair of cream snow boots with those little fuzzy balls that hang off the strings. It'd be perfect for scaring the crap out of anyone." Ahere smiled as she tucked a few long sleep tops and some of the sweaters she'd been looking at on top of the jacket for trying on later. She was getting better at judging how much clothing Devin would make her take into a dressing room, and then she wandered over to the jeans selection to skim through the choices. She had one pair of "wearable" jeans left as Devin liked to remind her.

"You have quite a lot of money left on that card I gave you..." Devin wagged her finger at Ahere as she walked by, her own clothes in tow.

She stopped at the wall of socks and started picking her prey. When her hands were full she sighed, "I need a basket." the girl frowned and looked at the wall again.

Ahere smirked and kicked one over to her forlorn friend. "You prey on those little socks Devin." She said with a laugh as her friend caught the basket. "Next thing you know you'll be preying on bunny rabbits and ground squirrels."

She stuck her tongue out as she grabbed a basket for herself and began picking her way through the jeans. Her favorites were always the dark wash jeans and she had found a secret crush on the skinny jeans. Even the guys that picked on her had to stop and stare when she wore them, it made her feel sexy. So she picked a few normal jeans and a few skinny just for good measure before she hunted up some short sleeve tops that would work in the spring and summer as well.

Devin was corrupting her into a shopper. By herself she would never shop for this much clothing, but now she couldn't just pick up one item, she had to pick up twenty or more for her to try on and at least half she would end up being guilted into getting. Devin was a good guilt tripper. So she heaved a fake sigh of sadness as she pulled out shirts at random that looked like things she would like, most had a vintage flare, before she headed over to the dressing rooms to wait on Devin.

Devin laughed and bit a sock, shaking her head like a dog. She growled and spit them out. "ugh so many cute socks!" she nearly jumped loaded her basket with at least 15 pairs of socks. After she had finished she moved and started picking at jewelry and her favorite thing in the whole wide world, handkerchiefs. She pulled out a few she liked, some jewelry for herself and some for Ahere.

"I am ready to go.." she grunted sitting her stuff down on the floor by Ahere.

Ahere laughed as she tried on a vintage 20's hat. "Too bad I don't have short curly hair." She said as she admired the hat.

"Ready to go or to try on? Normally you make me model half of this just to please some sadistic side you have."

She smiled as she put the hat back with a sigh and walked tot he register. She swallowed the lump in her throat as she paid for her clothing with the gift card, waited for Devin then headed out to the car to dispose of the bags. "Are we continuing with the shopping or shall we get groceries?"

"More shhhoooppppiiinngggggggggg..!" she laughed and grabbed Ahere's wrist dragging her back into the mall.

"I need to find some shirts I like." Devin had dropped her friends wrist once inside and was now walking toward Hot Topic. "I need more band shirts." she skipped into the store and disappeared along the wall full of band shirts.

Devin picked though many of the 'crappy' bands that the store carried merch for. "I have this store now..." she hissed under her breath.

Ahere snickered as she skimmed over the fake ballerina skirts that hung on nearly every wall. "If you want good band shirts you'll have to go elsewhere. This store has been taken over by what's "popular". It's no longer an Indie store, it's all about mainstreaming." She shook her head at all the "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" stuff that took up a whole display unto itself.

"When will they ever learn, eh?" She muttered as she walked out of the store and sat down on a bench to wait for Devin to give up or finally find what she wanted.

Devin picked up a few shirts and skimmed the jewelry. After a few minutes she checked out and walked over to her friend. "Look!" she pulled a shirt out and held it up to herself.

"Team Fluffy Teddy Wolf!" she giggled and turned the 'Team Jacob' shirt to look at it again herself. "I think Taylor is cute AND its just the were wolf crest." The shirt was black with a barley visible crest that took up most of the chest.
"I like it." she smiled and pushed the shirt back into the bag. "Yes its all 'popular' things but I still like the jewelry and hair stuff. Make up is nice too, though I barley wear it. Plus they are the only place other then online that sells my bands t-shirts." Devin smirked and started walking.

"I am hungry and smell soft pretzels."

Ahere shook her head at her friend. "You just love to patronize the little Twilight Freaks don't you?" She sighed and smiled as she stood up and headed down the long hall of the mall.

"Pretzels... Interesting choice, but I think I smelled some down this way. Why don't you sniff it out oh one with an amazing nose?" She smirked, it was her favorite thing to torture Devin about. Smelling things better than humans use to bother the girl quite a lot, especially when it was mass amounts of garbage.

"Yea well I am sure you would love to know that someone just took a dump down the other way too." she wrinkled her nose and stuck her tongue out at Ahere. "I just want a pretzel to munch on.. we should make our way to the food court too, its probably almost lunch time you think?" Devin looked at her friend.

Ahere blinked, it took her a minute to think about food since was still use to going without. After a moment she pursed her lips and blew out a breath that pushed her hair from her eyes for a moment. "Your pretzel is down this way and then it's the other way to the food court. Let's get you that pretzel."

She led Devin through the maze of humans that always seemed to plague the mall on Saturdays and stopped in front of the pretzel stand. After Devin order, paid, and received her pretzel Ahere threaded her way back the other direction to the escalators that led to the second story. After reaching the the food Ahere wrinkled her nose at the crowded seating arrangment. "Lovely..."
