"No, you get the bed." Devin got up with a huff and closed the bed room door. "So what did you bring?" she grabbed her cup of cocoa and sipped it looking out the window.

"Put something in." smiling at her friend. "As long as its a horror I don't care!"

Devin move across the room again, sitting her cup back down and opened the closet doors. She pulled a extra pillow and pillow case from the top shelf. Tossing them on the bed, she reached up again to pull a sheet and a blanket. Those too, she tossed on the bed.

Ahere laughed as she grabbed a movie. "So I was thinking we can start with some cheesy horror as in..." She brandished the movie. "The Wolfman!! The Original of course. I figured we could laugh out how much they get wrong about it all. Then move onto the better stuff of course."

Ahere walked over to the DVD player and stuck it in, pushing start when the pop up menu finally showed up. Then she moved and sat against the wall as she waited for Devin to finish getting ready.

"Of course! so cliche, on a full moon too." she did her best imitation of a howl. She laughed with Ahere as she pushed the small coffee table against the TV stand. The couch was an armless futon. She pushed the back, forward a little then gently lead it down to lay flat. She pull on of the fitted sheet down and fixed it into a bed.

"Do you want to pull the bed out into the middle?" she looked and cocked her head at Ahere before going back to throwing the blankets over her bed for the night.

Ahere laughed as Devin attempted to howl like a wolf only to end up coming out as a big cat's yeowl. She shook her head as she stood up to help move some stuff out of the way so Devin could pull out the couch futon easily. She sighed as she sipped her cocoa.

"Do you want to pull it out? We can if you wanna be closer so we can make fun of the movie." She smiled and stuck her tongue out at Devin.

Devin poked Ahere with her foot to move. After Ahere had, she pulled the bed out to beside the futon.

"Ew.. I need to dust." she nose was wrinkled as she looked at the floor where her bed use to be. A shrug and she jumped onto the futon. Grabbing her stuffed bear before curling up for the movie.

Ahere giggled. "I can help you clean your whole room tomorrow if ya want." She smiled at the bear before she flopped onto the bed, grabbed a pillow and became engulfed in the movie.

"Oh they always get the shifting wrong! They don't turn into half man things!!" She shouted at the tv.

"No, but the sound is about right..." she cringed "At least what we hear. You get use to zoning it out. That and it still hurts at times" with a sigh she rolled over on her back. Her memory floated back to the first time she changed, the age they all changed. Did it ever hurt. Kelly, poor kelly. Most who are bitten never make it through, but they didn't have to make everyone watch it. The screams were horrible...

Out of the corner of her eye Devin glanced at Ahere. 'No one better ever put her through that...' she knew if anyone ever did, she would kill them. Yea she had friends like her, but no one matched Ahere. She was like her sister, and even though her grandparents didn't agree, they knew that.

Ahere cringed at the sound of the changing. It reminded her of Kelly but without the screaming. She had told herself since that day that she wanted nothing to do with becoming a Were creature but she couldn't deny the little voice in the back of her head that said she couldn't be anything if she wasn't one of them.

Part of her wondered if there would ever be a way of changing into them without the pain, but she knew there wasn't a chance. She shook her head to remove the thoughts from her mind. There was no way she could or even would become one of them.

Devin awoke the next morning to her stomach growling. She stirred and looked at Ahere quickly to make she the girl was still there. She gathered herself and walked down to the kitchen. After starring into the almost empty fridge for a good 5 minutes, she closed the door and reached into a cabinet for some pop tarts.
After grabbing the whole box she climbed the stairs and back into bed. She flipped for something to watch on TV while she let Ahere sleep. Good thing being a were gave you good hearing. The TV was almost on mute so it wouldn't wake her friend.

Ahere rolled over and snuggled into the warm bedsheets making a small whining noise before she bolted up in the bed. "Omigawd, where are they?!?" She shouted as she looked around the room.

"Oh...." She murmured as she blinked a few times. "Oh I'm not at home. God I thought for sure those brats were going to storm in any moment now." She scratched her head as she gazed at the quiet Tv. "How can you.... No... no never mind, you're a Were, of course you can hear everything that's probably going on two doors down from here."

She shook her head as she bunched the blankets around her hips. "So what are ya watching?"

She laughed and tossed her friend a package of pop tarts. Devin shook her head and swallowed the last bite she was chewing on.

"Naw, I can hear the neighbors though sometimes..." she wrinkled her nose "They like it rough.." Devin turned back to the tv. "CSI, its the only thing on. I have see them all though... sadly." she sighed and flopped over on the bed to start at the ceiling.

"You work today? If not what do you want to do?"

Ahere took a bite of the pop tart before she choked on it when Devin mentioned her neighbors. "Oh my god... I really did NOT want to know that Devin..." She said as she smacked her chest to re-leave the crumbs from her throat.

"Well I do work today, I have the afternoon to closing shift. We can do something now after the shower? Or did you have something you needed to do this morning?" Ahere ran her fingers through her hair as she tried to de-tangle it.

she shook her head and pointed to the bathroom.

"Go get a shower and then we can figure out something." Devin continued munching on a pop tard and watching the tv. She pulled the blanket up to her chin and shivered. After looking out the window she moaned "Rain... again! Ahhg." she slapped her forehead with her palm.

Ahere scooted off the bed and made her way quickly to the bathroom and hopped into the shower. She made it quick since she heard Devin complaining about the rain, but it was Oregon, there was nothing else they could do about it. Hopping out she redressed in yesterday's clothing before she braided her hair and walked back out.

"So where is all your family? I know your brother isn't expected back in town in awhile since he's off... I don't even remember where now. But what about your dad? Wasn't he suppose to come home after the hunt?" Ahere asked as she sat on the bed.

Devin grunted and rolled onto her back.

"Randy is going to school apparently, I don't know he has not called me or anything." her and her brother were close, but not the best of friends. "Dad probably was here and left for the restaurant early. You know how he is..." She sat up and shook her head.

"I totally hate me hair.." she stood and walked to the bathroom. "If you want new cloths, you know you fit in mine." she noted as she pulled her hair up, the padded over to the dresser to pull out clothes for herself.

Ahere pursed her lips as she listened to Devin talk about her family. She felt a small pang of jealousy when she thought about how much closer Devin was with her family, her brother especially, than she was with her own. Momentarily she wished for that same closeness but knew that it would never happen, even if she did become like them and survive she didn't think that she would ever have that same close knit family.

She sighed and looked at her wrinkled clothing. They were old and threadbare since her family could not afford to cloth her. It was always the "human" that was always the one without if someone had to be without. Even a few times she had gone to bed hungry because there was not enough food to feed everyone.

"I'll be fine. No worries here." She answered as she watched Devin get dressed.

"Oh come on!" Devin chucked some clothes onto the futon for herself. "GO pick out something, you wore those yesterday." Devin felt bad, she knew the whole situation back at Ahere's home. Part of her wished she could go get Ahere some new cloths. Ahere wouldn't take them though, she never did. Devin walked to the bed and pulled off her old top and changed into a small red halter top. Then pulled herself into a pair of black jeans, and moved to put on some jewelry and makeup.

Ahere sighed in exasperation but knew there was no use fighting with Devin. The least she could do was play nice and wear something of Devin's since she never let Devin try and buy her any clothing. Only on her birthday was Devin allowed to buy one single new outfit and even now Ahere was thinking about putting a money limit on it or even nixing the offer altogether, but she loved her friend too much.

"Fine, fine!" She muttered as she went through the clothing. She picked out a simple top and an old pair of jeans. She changed quickly then pulled her hoodie back on. "Happy?"

Devin sighed and shook her head as Ahere pulled her old hoodie back over her head. She poked at a hole along the bottom of it.

"Now I have hoodies that are old, and ones with holes... But please lets get you a new one." she frowned at her friend. After a moment she went and grabbed a bag off the back of her door. "Come on, we are going shopping." Devin had begged her dad before about adopting or at least letting Ahere moved in. Once her brother left her dad had actually said she could move in. Devin didn't know how to tell Ahere this and didn't know how she would feel about it. Her brother was nice to Ahere, the most kind next to Devin herself. But Ahere always looked upset and.. sad when she saw Devin and Randy together.

Devin shook her head and grabbed Ahere's arm dragging her into the hallway.

Ahere sighed and shook her head.There was nothing she could do to make Devin change her mind but since it was only for a new hoodie she was totally fine with it. She enjoyed letting Devin feel helpful and she actually liked walking around and looking at all the clothing. It did make her feel a pang of sadness as she realized there was no way she could afford some of the items she would want from the stores they looked at. But she always liked trying things on.

"You're so stubborn!" She said with a laugh.

While they walked to the mall Devin thought about different ways to ask Ahere, she didn't want her to be.. offended. Finally she sighed and just asked.

"Ahere, do you want to move in with us?" she looked over at her friend as they walked.

Ahere gazed at all the clothing as she walked by the stores. She sighed sadly as she looked at the cute outfits she really wanted to wear but couldn't afford. She stopped and gazed longingly at an outfit that was set up in a window. Skinny jeans long sleeve off the shoulder top and a low cut tank top. There was a big chunky belt over it all with some bracelets and several long necklaces. She sighed, shook her head, and walked away.

Devin's sudden question caught off her guard. She stared at her with wide eyes. "What...?"

"Do you want to move in with me and my dad? Don't get mad... I figured you would like to get away from your family." she frowned.

Devin turned and looked at the outfit Ahere had been looking at. She eyed it for a minute before looking into the store and pointing at the outfit.

"You like that?"

Ahere gaped at her friend for a moment before she closed her mouth and blinked a few times. "Uh.... Where would I move in to...? Isn't your brother coming back soon? So I can't really stay in his room and I don't to intrude on your own personal space."

She blushed as Devin noticed the outfit she had been ogling. "Erm.... No..." She mumbled as she looked away quickly.

"You would stay with me till the basement is finished." she smiled "Its no intrusion, I love sleep overs with you. It would be like one every night!" She grabbed the girls arm and pulled her into the store "Your a really bad lier you know!" Devin laughed and started pulling the items that were on the manikin off of the racks.

"Plus once the basement is finished there will be 2 bed rooms plus a 'house' basically. It will be like we share and apartment! 2 bathrooms and bed rooms, a living room AND a small kitchen!" she pushed Ahere into a dressing room and shoved the outfit at her. "Try it on! I want to see!" with that she shut the dressing room door.
