Ahere blushed as Devin dragged her around the store grabbing the items for the outfit she had been staring at. "Really? Your basement is big enough for all of that?" She laughed as Devin pushed her in a dressing room.

"It sounds really cool. But what about furniture? I doubt my parents would let me take my stuff, they'd probably want to use it for one of the twins. Let them have my room and all of my stuff so they can sleep in separate rooms. Besides, I think I'd be a little embarrassed if you saw my clothing.... I'm sure you flip and throw a tantrum." She said as she changed into the outfit.

She opened the door and stepped out in the outfit. She wiggled nervously, she had never been in tight clothing. Her body was overly skinny from the little food she ate and the tight clothing clung to every part of her small frame. "Ta-da..."

"Well it will be kinda small, to fit it all. But it will be the size of an apartment If not going to be like a full size house or something." she laughed calling though the dressing room door. "Furniture and everything will be taken care of! If you say yes we will go pick out paint and stuff today!" she nearly jumped over the door she was getting way to excited about this. "Then once the place and painted and that, we will go pick out Furn..." she gasped as Ahere came out of the dressing room

"Ta-da..." Ahere nearly glowed in the outfit.

"Its perfect!" Devin squeaked and started digging in her bag. "I think you should be more embarrassed about wearing your current wardrobe.. besides thats AH HA!" she pulled a card out of her bag and handed it to Ahere. It was a pre paid visa. "Thats is the start of your new wardrobe. Happy Birthday, Christmas, earl, late what ever." she smiled at the girl.

"But first... We need to get you some meat on that skeleton you are." she frowned "Change, we will buy that and let go get some food."

Ahere blushed heavily as Devin commented on the outfit then handed her a gift card. "Oh! You're such a brat!!" She cried as she took it, she knew there was no point in arguing about the card. "This is your only present for my birthday I hope you know!" She shook her head and disappeared into the dressing room and changed back into the borrowed clothing. Picking up the new outfit she walked out and shook her head at Devin.

"I'm not that skinny... Am I...?" She questioned. "Never mind, don't answer that. I don't want to know." She sighed and walked up to the cash register to buy the outfit. She worried about how much money Devin and snuck onto the card. After purchasing the new outfit she walked over to Devin.

"Sure. I think moving in with you would be fun!" She smiled.

"Awesome!" Devin jumped and dragged Ahere to the food court. "Now to order lots of food, I am starving and you need it!" the stood on the outskirts of all the tables and looked through the signs. "I am feeling... Chinese." she handed Ahere a 50 and scampered off to order her own food.

After they ate they walked to the end of the mall where Home Depot was attached. Devin was glowing with excitement and nearly ran to the paint section.

"I was thinking maybe like a rust orange or red for the living room. Then maybe a terracotta tile for the back wash in the kitchen area, on the floor too. Or we could do a Spanish tile that would look nice with a rust color. There isn't a wall planed to separate the kitchen and living room. Right now that is, we could always plan one." Devin rambled flipping through the many paint pallets. "Oh a brown wall would be awesome to put the TV against, its dark down there though. No windows, so we are totally getting lights that dim and such. I think maybe build in level lights. The ceiling will glow," she made an growing motion with her hands. "I should shut up now, huh." she dropped her hands and look innocently at her friend before looking back at the paints.

Ahere smiled and shook her head as Devin rushed off to get some food. She herself went over to grab some Mediterranean food. She sat down with Devin and at her food as she listened to Devin ramble away.

She laughed and shook her head. "You are so excited about this. Well if we're going with the Spanish theme I think that we should put nice blue or teal glass tiles in the kitchen for the back splash. It would give some nice light to the room when the lights are on. We could even use a darker blue glass as the counter. Just to lighten up the room, but that's my opinion. Tile or wood floors sound great as long as we get a nice plush rug." She blushed and bit her lip as she suddenly realized she was talking about things she couldn't afford. It wasn't her home, she shouldn't give out her opinion so easily.

"Thats a good idea! We can see what they have. I was to look at flooring too, its only concrete right now. Dad is waiting for what I want to do. But the kitchen will defiantly be tile, I hate linoleum." She wrinkled her nose at the thought while she picked up a few more colors. "It will be chilly down there so I am defiantly putting carpeting in my bed room. Not wood like my room is right now. To cold on the feet when you get up in the morning. I am thinking Browns and greens for my room, and maybe bright reds for the bath. Or tan, tan is good too. Need to look at tile for that..." she pulled out more paint cards.

"What are you thinking about doing? She looked at Ahere's face, which read 'This isn't my money', she frowned "And don't worry about the money." she pushed against her friend's shoulder "Its not a problem..."

Ahere shook her head smiling as Devin just kept rambling away. She really enjoyed how much Devin was getting into this new room. She sighed as Devin basically read her mind. "I know, but you know how it is. Money is always an issue for me."

She bit her lip and looked at the paint chips Devin was looking through. "I'm thinking blues, greens, purples. Soft colors. Maybe a nice Sea foam in the bathroom. Relaxing colors you know? Carpeting for sure in the bedroom. You know how I like dark antique furniture so colors and carpeting that would look good with that. Maybe I should go thrift shopping for furniture. It's cheap that way."

Devin laughed and shook her head at Ahere. "Of course, so like you. That might be fun actually I would like a Victorian couch.." she grabbed a few more paint chips and started towards the flooring.

"We defiantly have to pick out flooring today." she smiled back at her friend.

"Thrift shopping is this best. You can find really cute stuff. It takes a really long time and usually you have to go to more than one but it's always worth it when you find that gem. A lot of the jewelry I have is from thrift shopping. It took forever to find the real stuff and not that cheap plastic crap. A lot of the necklaces I have are totally worth a couple hundred and I paid like two bucks!" Ahere laughed then blushed. "Omigod don't tell my dad. He'd totally try and sell them for money. He thinks they're the cheap stuff and doesn't care."

Ahere shook her head as she followed Devin off to look at flooring. Honestly she didn't know what she would want in a place. She never really thought she would be escaping her home as soon as she was. "Maybe something eco-friendly, like bamboo. That's always nice. It's a little expensive I hear but it's worth it too. And they come in a bunch of colors I've seen. They make it look like other woods."

"Oh that would be totally cool!" she looked around before spotting the carpeting. "I don't know if they have it here though... Oohhhh! I want this." she stood petting a soft black carpeting. "My rug will blend in though..' she frowned and started looking again.

An hour later they left with a bag full of paint, flooring, tile, and other mixtures of swatches. They had found the bamboo flooring and grabbed every color to look at. The chatted as they walked through the mall to continue cloth shopping.

"Do you want to finish this or go get your things from your house and tell your parents? Before you work tonight..." She way holding up a small black and white polka-dot dress admiring it. "I am to excited for you to move in!" She hung the dress back up and tightened her arms into and excited shrug.

Ahere laughed and shook her head. "I think you should try colors OTHER than black. You know the other colors of the rainbow can look just as good." She said as she fingered a rich brown carpet square. She froze when Devin had asked her about telling her parents. Honestly she had forgotten that would be part of the move out and suddenly she felt sick. It didn't seem like such a good idea now.

"Um..." She started as she struggle with the sick feeling. "I... I don't know if it's such a good idea I move out now that I think about it..." She muttered as she looked at the bag she was holding, her parents weren't going to like the new expensive clothing. They always wanted her to "save" any money she got in hopes that they would be able to use it to pay for bills and such.

Unlike Devin's father, Ahere's father was the Omega of the clan, the lowest on the totem pole. So when patrons paid their bills, if they did, it mainly went to Devin's father and not her's. Her parents struggled to pay for things and if they ever had to go without the first to not have anything was always Ahere. She picked at the sleeve of her hoodie, honestly she didn't even think Devin knew about this side of her family or pack. Or maybe she did and she just didn't care or think much about it, but then again she didn't have to face the hardships Ahere went through. Devin was lucky, Ahere always thought, no one in her family was human and they weren't the Omega, they didn't live without.

Devin watched her friend face turn from happy to almost horror. "Ahere, what is wrong?" she looked at the girl again when a frown "My dad can talk to them we can go and get your stuff and be out of there before they know." part of her wondered if she just was sick from telling her parents or something more. She laid a hand on her friends arm

"If this is about money tell me, because its not an issue I already told you this." Her father would use the basement after the girls left, even maybe rent it out since the only way to get there was from an outside door. So money was not the issue and Devin knew that and then it hit her. "The clothes... you can keep everything at my house. If they ask you about something new tell them you borrowed it from me. Ahere they can't keep doing that shit to you. Its not right!" She growled a little. More then once had Devin seen the after math of what Ahere's family did to her.

"Thats why I want you to move in, I don't want to have this urge every day to jump on your brothers or someone else. Honestly if your dad keeps taking things from you thats theft. You will be 18 in 2 years and maybe the towns police and such would not care, but higher would and I would be willing to fight that shit with you." Devin shut up after that. The more she talked about it all the more pissed off she got.

"I will go and get your things by myself, that way they can't hurt you. And if they ask I will tell them you are moving in with me. We can tell them we plan on going to collage together and want to make sure we can live together for it or something. If you let my dad tell them, they will not argue. I even asked dad about adopting you.." she looked at the ground and fell silent.

Ahere was almost shocked by the anger that poured off of Devin. She had seen Devin get angry on her part before but never really about what her family did to her. She had tried to deep it a secret from Devin as much as possible, but the bruises, cuts, and broken bones weren't always easily concealed. Devin was right on one thing though, Ahere's parents and siblings wouldn't lay a finger on her if she went over and got the stuff herself. They wouldn't even argue if Devin's father told them she was going to live with them. Her parents couldn't really argue with anyone since they were so low on the food chain. It was probably the best to go with that plan. Suddenly something Devin said caught her off guard.

"You tried to get your dad to adopt me...?" She questioned as she tried to comprehend what was just said. "You don't need to deal with the shit that comes with having a... human... sibling, adopted or not. You and your father will deal with more shit than you do now with just being my friend..." She mumbled but she liked the idea, at least if she was with Devin there wouldn't be any family to pick on her anymore.

"Come on Ahere no one really messes with my father, and its not like you really have a family now. I do not care if I have a human sibling, even Randy likes the idea!" she pouted a little. "Listen all I really care about is getting you away from them. I can just feel that something bad is going to happen if you don't get away from them."

She went back to looking at clothes till Ahere answered her. She knew from the girls face she was in a little bit of shock. "Its not like we don't already live together. Your with me everyday, sleep at my house almost ever weekend and sometimes even during the week days. We ARE already sisters. Oh and besides... I do wear more then black. Have you actually looked in my closet." she stuck her tongue out trying to cheer herself and Ahere up.

Ahere shook her head and snickered from Devin's comment. "Oh yes... Red, dark purple, and gray SO count as other colors." She sighed as she scratched her head. She was glad that Devin and turned to look away because she had turned a bright red color when Randy had been mentioned. She had had a crush on him for years, all the way up until he had left for college and had taken painstaking efforts to keep both Randy and Devin from learning her little secret.

"Well if you really want me to move in I'm all for it. But I doubt you'll have to get so radical with adopting me. not like i have any problem with it. But doing it all at once I think would be a little TOO much for my family and possibly yours." She looked away and fingered a little sun dress while sighing, she missed the sun.

Devin shrugged and sighed. "Fine. And I do have more colors! I have bright neon green and blue among many others." She looked through more cloths "Sorry that I am not a pink girl." Devin made a gaging nose and pulled out a few things for Ahere to try on.

"Get!" she shoved her friend into a dressing room again and waited. "So you want my dad to tell you parents?"

Ahere giggled. "Yeah pink is SO not your color." She shook her head then squeaked as Devin pushed her off into a dressing room. "Good god! I am not a doll!!" This was her argument every time she went shopping with Devin, but she still tried everything on because she liked the clothing and Devin liked her in the "new stuff."

"Sure, you're dad can tell my parents. It might go over easier with them if he does it." She answered as she changed.

Devin already had her phone out and calling her dad when Ahere had said yes. After she talked to her dad she hung up her phone. "He says to bring home what flooring we want. Do you want me to come with you to get your stuff or just me go and get it?"

She waited to see what Ahere was trying on first. "Yes you are a doll."

Ahere walked out of the dressing room and just glared at Devin as she tried to keep her hands on the very short skirt of the dress she had put on. "You always do this to me..." She growled. She was embarrassed, she never showed off this much leg in her life.

Letting out an exasperated sighed she shook her head. "Whoever wants to come with me to get my stuff is fine I guess."

"You look good!" Devin smiled and looked over her friend again. "If its to short you think wear leggings under it. But it is so cute on you!" she smiled and shooed her in to try on something new. "I know its always rainy here but dang, you need a little sun though. We need to take a road trip this summer."

Devin looked through some cloths on the rack behind her, it was discount so she figured Ahere would be a little happy with it. She pulled out a few more things and held them while she continued pushing through more clothes.

"We can go get them after we are done here. Your parents will probably be at work tonight, right?"

Ahere shook her head and stuck her tongue out at her friend. "You're absolutely insane..." She muttered when she went back into the dressing room to change into another outfit. "We can go over after this to get my stuff but you know I work tonight. It's getting close to my shift so If we're not quick I'm not going to be available."

"What the hell did you give me?!?" She cried as she held up a shirt that had straps criss crossing over the material. "How am I suppose to get this on? WHat's a sleeve and what's just decoration?"

Devin laughed. "You really need to get out more. And its fine let just go now we can go shopping tomorrow again!" she smiled and hung the things she had grabbed back onto the rod. They would be there tomorrow she figured.

A text from her dad told her that Ahere's parents were not to happy with the move, Devin figured because they could not steal from her if she was not in the house. "We need to get your stuff tonight anyway, your parents are going to junk it or whatever if you don't" she growled a little at the tought of Ahere's parents.

Ahere changed back into the borrowed clothing. She wondered what Devin would have in store for her in tomorrow's shopping, but she did always like putting on nice clothing even if she couldn't buy it. as she brushed out her rich dark red hair with her fingers she thought about what she actually had at home that was hers. There really wasn't much.

"Honestly...." She started as she walked out of the stall, hanging the clothing on the rack for the store girls to put away. "There isn't much at home that I would care if they junked it. I mean the furniture won't be ruined, they need it for the boys, and the clothing is all old hand-me-downs from my older brother so they're not really important to me. The only thing that I would be sad over I guess would be the jewelry and a few trinkets I have. But yes, I do agree we should get the stuff before the figure they should trash it."

She sighed as she headed to the exit of the mall. She really didn't want to return to her house but she knew there was stuff she really wanted. So she didn't have a choice, but at least Devin would be there. She blushed to herself when she thought that it would be nice to have her brother for a little more muscle to make her parents not try and push the two girls over, but she wasn't going to say anything outloud about it.

She looked in sh windows as they passed and Ahere talked. She knew there wouldn't be much to take out of the house but may as well get the little that she actually had. Clothes really were not a worry since she knew how much Ahere could buy with that card. She smiled a little at the thought of Ahere finally wearing new clothes that were hers and not borrowed from Devin. Not that she minded, she always basically pushed Ahere to borrow them it would be a change for Ahere to have something nice and truly hers.

"Don't worry" Devin push up against Ahere. When she gave her a puzzled look. "Your doing that thing again. When you worry and think to much..." Devin smiled and walked beside her friend. It was going to be nice to not worry so much about what was going on at 'home' with Ahere. She had a new home now...

Ahere stuck her tongue out at Devin as they walked. She knew she was over thinking things but that's just what she did. She worried that someone in her family might get too excited and shift; and that would be far too dangerous. She looked at Devin who was looking at outfits through the windows, would she be able to handle something like that if the time came? Ahere was just human, if she was attacked, even by accident, someone in her family would be put down. No matter what they had done to her she would be devastated if one of them had to be put down for attacking her.

"I know I worry too much but it's all for good reasons. You know that." She sighed and brushed her hair from her face as she looked towards the exit. She was really starting to not want to go home now.
