Looking at Katreva confused, she waited till Miss Van Drop entered Kiera's room and she closed Katreva's door behind her.
"Its a room Katreva, you never had a room?" she could tell the girl was scared again. Her whole body was shaking, "Are you alright? Whats wrong?" Walking over to the bed she flipped on the dim lamp that was beside the bed. The girl was scared to death and Anna had no idea why. 'What happened to her that she is so afraid of others? Maybe she is cold, she is only wearing very little clothing.'



Miss Van Drop smiled at Kiera when she entered.
"You know we do not like smart mouths here, Kiera. So please do not be so rude. The other girls have taken a sleeping pill since it is way past lights out. The problems with the new girl kept everyone up later and you all have group in the morning. Its just one pill to get you all to sleep faster." She sat the cup on the table beside the bed with a plastic cup of water. "Come on now..."

Katreva shook her head as she moved to the head board, going to the pillows there and sitting down, holding the pillow tightly. She remebered this when she was very little but only that she had liked it. "Its been awhile... i dont remeber much about rooms." She looked at the other as she tried to control her tremors. "I am not used to being enclosed. Im used to the forest and i miss my pack." She did not cry but she did whine like a wolf would as she clung to the pillows, burring her facce into it as she tried to figure out what to do.

"I can ask, if you would like, to share my room with you. There are not enough girls right now, but that is why there are 2 beds in the rooms. You can sleep beside the window. I always leave the window open when I sleep anyway. If you want that I will go ask Mrs. Talbot now. But I want to talk to you about something more important." her voice dropped "I saw your anklet fly out of Miss Van Drop's hands and into yours. Did you do that? Do you have powers?"
Anna moved and say at the end of the bed looking up at Katreva giving her some space. The girl was dirty, she had said she came from the woods though. She really wondered what that had meant. Its not uncommon, Anna lived for a few months herself in the woods when she had ran away. It was safer then the streets and no one could bother her there. The smells and the quite were nice too. It always reminded her of visiting her grandparents when she was little. They lived in the country so the crickets would always sing you to sleep at night there. The missed it, hell she missed her own house even though it was just her more then half the time. Anything was better then the places like this that she had been.

Katreva looked at Anna and nodded. She didnt know anyone here and it seemed as if Anna could be trusted. "Please..." She murmmured around her pillow. She listened to the other talk and looked up from her pillow, tilting her head. "Powers? I have always been able to move things with my mind and read others thoughts. However it was the night of the new pack leader being chosen and i was focused on the fight. Otherwise i would have heard the hunters before they where so near." She sighed and closed her eyes before looking at the other aigan. "Cant everyone do what i do?" She tilted her head slightly as she moved in her wolf skin clothing, looking at the other with her blue eyes that where like a oceans ever changing colors.

Nodding as she stood "Kind of. Not the same thing but I will explain later, come on I will take you over to my room and then run down stairs." Anna motioned for Katreva to follow her. She lead her to the next room "Here," she said with a smile and went over to the dresser. "Why don't you put on something more comfortable?"
Anna dug through and pulled out a pair of sweat pants that were cut off into long shorts and a tang top. She chucked them onto the other bed then turned and looked at the girl again, for a minute she studied her then closed the draw and walked over to the closet. She had 3 baskets she had placed on the floor that held her socks, bra and underwear. She grabbed a new pack of underwear and a new bra that her father's new 'girlfriend' had bought for her before she left. Handing them to Katreva
"Here go ahead and get dressed and I will be right back. Alright, I will be back fast." and she left the room and took off down to the second floor. Mrs. Talbot's room was right around at the bottom of the stairs. She knocked then heard someone coming to the door.
"Yes?" the older women answered the door
"Umm Hi, Katreva is a little freaked out and well since she trusts me I think she would feel..."
"Thats fine, she can share your room." Mrs. Talbot had cut her off and shut the door on her.

"Well... ok." Anna rolled her eyes and started back up the stairs.

Katreva nodded as she listened to teh female. She rose and moved with the girl though she kept the pillow holding it to her chest. It was soon covered in dirt and dried blood but she took no notice of it. She nodded at the other and sat on the bed closest to the window. The sleeping pill she had been given started to make her head feel fuzzy with sleep. Not that she wasnt already tired of course. ""Whats that....." She said looking at the clothes for she had not seen them before. As the girl left though she picked up the bra, holding it to the light before snaping the back together. She shrugged and tossed it to the side then grabed the underwear, putting it on her head. She shook her head wondering what it was for and why it was needed. Hello wolf girl, never worn underwear since age 5. Never saw a bra either. She looked up as Anna came back, the bra in her hands and hte underwear on her head for she didnt know what it was for. She looked at the other with a lost look on her face.

Anna started laughing as soon as she walked in the door and saw Katreva. "How.. long where you in the woods?" she smiled still chuckling a little.
"Maybe we should get you a shower first. Do you know what a shower or a bath is?" feeling stupid for asking she picked up the clothes, took the bra and underwear from Katreva and walked into the bath room. She sat everything on top of a white wicker hamper that was against the wall. Turning on the water she made it nice and hot, not hot enough to burn, but the hot that feels really nice. The mirrors started to fog up already.
Anna hung on the door framed and peeked her head out to the girl on the bed.
"Come on, you need this... you are filthy." in the light from the room you could see the dried blood and dirt all over the girl. Anna could tell she was very pretty under all that yuck though. She smiled, even though this girl was odd she still liked her. It was actually like she was starting to make a friend at this place. That was something very, very new to her...

Katreva wached the other and tilted her head. "Since i was... 5 i belive. My pack mate took me to a wolf pack in the woods and we lived with them. This is her fur from when she passed away." She petted her clothing as she remebered her old pack mate. "Shower bath?" She sounded the words out slightly before following the girl into the bath. She saw the water and gave a small sound of surprise. "Water... How are you able to contain it?" She stared at the tub. She turned to anna as she was called filthy. "I am always like this... though not normally with blood." She shruged slightly as she looked at the other.

She looked at Anna and the water. She then saw the mirror and she stepted back, a growl escapeing her lips. When she saw the other person growl back she stoped. "what..." SHe moved forward, the mirror doing what she was doing like it was suppose to. As she touched the glass she jumped back with alarm and looked at Anna her wide eyes a dark blue with white rims for she was not upset but she wasnt happy she was confused.

Laughing again she stepped behind Katerva so she could see them both in the mirror "Its a mirror, it shows you what you look like. Thats just your reflection see." the smiled at the girl and went to the side of the shower. "This is a shower, you wash in it. Hold on!" she went out and pulled one of the boxes from under her bed. She rambled while she looked threw the boxes. "I think its best if you should try to fit in with everyone. So you will need to wa... Eh no." she shoved the box back under and pulled the other out. "You will need to wash the dirt off, and your hair." she looked up and glanced at the girl. "No offence but its a mess."
She went back to looking threw the box. "I have some in here I know I do. Ah! Here." She threw her hand up with 2 bottles in it. When she stood there was another in her other hand. Walking back to the bathroom she sat them on the sink and looked at the girl. "This black bottle has shampoo in it, its to wash your hair. The white one is conditioner, it makes your hair nice and smooth. Wash it with the black first, then rinse it out and wash with the white. This," She held up a clear bottle with something peach in it. "is soap. You wash all the dirt off your body with it." she sighed and put the bottles on the side of the tub. "Now You can keep that fur, it looks like the means a lot to you, but you can't wear it anymore. Not if you want to get out of here. No matter what you need to fit in. That means you can use your powers here..." frowning she finished.
Anna walked over to the small closet in the bath room and opened it. "Figures" she said when opened the door. She pulled out a large fluffy white towel and a small wash cloth. She hung them over the rail.

Kiera sneered at the Van Drop.
"Those are not sleeping pills I can see it on your face. You think I'm getting....worse... so you think I need more pills. Fine." She reached over and snatched the pills, tossed them in, drank the water, and stuck out her tongue, showing both sides so show she hadn't tongued them.
"I took them, can I go to bed?"

Miss Van Drop glared at the girl and left the room. The door shut behind her with a small thud and say made her way to the room she heard the shower in. She knocked and yelled threw the door.
"After that shower you need to be in bed, lights out."
"Alright!" she heard Anna yell back.
She made her way down the stairs and into her room for the night.

Anna helped Katerva undress and into the bath. She showed the girl how to use the different soaps and everything then left the room. After about 15 minutes she heard the water turn off and opened the door again too see everything wall in the bathroom dripping with water. Katerva had shaken the water off and soaked everything in the bathroom. Luckily the clothes Anna had given the girl were safe on the hamper in a little nook beside the closet. Laughing Anna grabbed another towel for the girl and showed her how to dry off. Then grabbing the clothes she showed her how to put them on.
Once Katerva was brushing her hair how Anna had shown her, Anna made her way out and pulled a lime green tang top, grey and white stripped short shorts, and grabbed a set of sheets from the box under her bed. She changed into the shorts and top then began ripping the starched white sheets off the bed. Anna was half way into remaking the bed with her sheets when Katerva walked out with her nice clean wet hair nice and knot free. She finished the bed while the other girl watched. Smoothing the clean soft red and black argyle out she looked at Katerva.
"Go ahead and lay down." she herself crawled into her newly made bed and curled up. Katerva did the same on the other bed and before Anna could even turn and look over she could hear the girl's sleep. Rolling over, Anna smiled at the girl. She crawled tot he end of the bed and pulled her iPod out of her jean pocket. Anna turned on the iPod and pushed her head phones in just as her favorite song came on. She snuggled back into her pillow and lipped the words while she brought a game up to play while she listened.
In the middle of the game she received a message. "What the..." Anna had no friends and didn't even log into any messengers. The message read 'I know what you can do.' She stared at it for awhile before another on popped up. She looked around and slipped on her flip flops. 'Come to room 3'. Slowly Anna opened the door and made sure no one was in the hall. She heard a door shut on the floor below then quite, accept for the creaks of the house. Slowly she closed the door behind her and made her way down the hall with a minor floor board creaking here and there. She didn't even bother to knock. She opened Keira's room door and went in.

Kiera waited until she heard Van Drop walking down the stairs then rushed silently to the bathroom. Barring closed the door she jammed a finger down her throat until she gagged violently, quickly pulling her finger away she vomited into the toilet.
"That really hurts after awhile..." She muttered as she wiped the light sweat from her forehead and flushed the toilet. She flushed her mouth out at the sink before popping in a piece of gum and heading back to her room.
As she flopped back onto her bed a slight tingling sensation crawled along her skull, something electronic was on and it was very close but small. She closed her eyes and opened her mind like someone would open a door; she had to try hard to keep the sounds of the electronics from her mind because it would always lure her away from reality. It was second nature for her to be whisked away into the world of technology, it was one of the rare few places that had felt like one; the other had died a long time ago...
She visualized herself walking through a maze of file cabinets and doors, none had the feeling coming from behind or in it. She let the feeling guide her, until she could hear the familiar electronic buzzing that was emitted from all technology, it was an iTouch.
'Who has one of those here...? She questioned as she rifled through the files in it until she found the user, it was Anna.
Her "other" self broke into two, one staying in the iTouch while the other flew back and raced down the maze, looking for one file cabinet.
'Found it! One "self" called to the "other" as it began rereading the information that she had "downloaded" into her mind from Dr. Davidoff's personal computer; he kept files on all the "gifted" children on there, he had no idea that Kiera was able to do anything like this. Her mind reopened the file like someone would on a computer then scanned through it again; she was gifted.
'I was right... She said with a smile as both "selves" came back together as "one". 'This place only carries to the ones with powers. We're going to all be test subjects for him one day... Just like...' She stopped and shook her head (both of them). No time to think of the past there was another here and she WOULD convince her that this was real and it was all a threat to all their lives.
Kiera wandered around in the iTouch for a moment until she found the messenger application, she forced it open.
I know what you can do...
She thought to the machine making it send and appear on the screen
Come to room 3

Now was the time to act. Slowly but surely she would convince all of them of the dangers of this place and maybe, just maybe, get their help to get out of here.

Quietly closing the door behind her her turned and looked around the dark room. Her eyes were adjusted enough from the hallway and the moon light through the window helped show the figure sit up on the bed.
"You have powers too I am guessing?" she looked through the dark at the figure she knew it was Keira. Her voice was low "Since you know about us and you did that to my iPod. If that was you..." She wrapped her headphones around the device as she stared at the figure. Even if this was someone else in her room she didn't care. How is it any coincidence that 3 girls with powers, that she knew, was in this home. She knew herself and Katerva could do things that normal people couldn't.
Ever since Anna was little she could see things, dead things. But after her mother died it got worse. When her dad had finally given up on sending her to therapy and sent her to her first hospital. There they made her believe, basically like brainwashing, that it was all in her head. 'People don't see dead people' they had told her. But she knew it wasn't when she got out. She just lived with it, learned to deal with it and keep quite. Something that all went down the drain after the police had brought her home. She had been hearing people one day but when it got to be to much she freaked. In her angry rant she yelled at her father and let him know she was not "sane" still. Thats what landed her here..
She crossed her arms with her iPod still gripped tight in her hand. Right now she was blocking out the ones that were trying to talk to her, something she had learned after living on the streets. When she got here she thought it was weird there was so many deceased people at this location. But she told herself it was an old house and who knows what is was before an asylum or what is was built on. She let the wall in her head clear for a minute but the voices were only moans right now, probably because she was on the highest floor of the house.

Zach crawled his way down from the roof, slipping back inside his room from the open window. He hoped that no one, particularly the staff, had noticed that he had gone onto the roof, but he thought it shouldn't be a problem since he only wanted to look at the sky. Once inside his room, he closed the window behind himself and threw himself onto his bed, bouncing on it a bit as the springs gradually found equilibrium. Looking up at the ceiling, he wondered how long it would be until he was going to "disappear" as Kiera said others have been.

Kiera cocked her head to one side as she listened to Anna.
"Yes... I have powers too... sit down, I'm going to tell you what this place really is..."
She watched as Anna sat down on the empty bed and smiled slightly. "My.... gift, power, ability, whatever you call it is classified as Technopathy. In the beginning all I really could do was talk to technology, telling ATM machines I wanted money or vending machines I wanted food. After awhile I could tell alarm systems I wanted in so i could get stuff but that's all I really used it for. When I was taken in by my.... grandmother after living on the streets for many many years I continued to use my gifts she lost it and stuck me in "homes" for the insane. I continuously got myself kicked out and passed around from house to house until I was picked up by Davidoff and brought here.
In the beginning I thought I was the only one with gifts and the others were the truly insane ones. Then one day one of the boys lashed out in anger, he literally drained the life from someone. When he tried it on me we found out the truth; this home is a home for the "gifted".
They bring kids with powers in here and study them until they deem them ready for the... bigger tests, that's when they take them away. They go to a different facility to get tested on. They are subjugated to horrible things until they're finally killed. None ever return." Kiera stopped and turned her head away from Anna for a moment as she thought back on her past, she shook her head then looked back.
"I know about you and your gifts because Gill is an idiot and keeps all her files on all the kids here on her personal laptop, I can get in and read everything then I store it in my mind for later use. You have an... affinity with death. You can hear the dead like I can hear technology. Zack can melt things with his mind by looking at them, or so his file says, I've never asked.
Kat I know nothing about... They do not have a file on her yet but I did hear you say her name a few times. I assume from the ruckus outside she has... Telekenisis... maybe I could be off since I haven't seen it for myself and they have no file yet. But they will... Very soon..."

She found herself starring at the floor when Kiera began to talk. She had not noticed that during her mind drifting of she had stopped looking at the girl. Her head shot up and she moved.
Anna sat at the end of the bed like Kiera had asked. She listened intently to what the girl had to say. She nodded now and then and for a few quite moments after the girl had stopped talking. Anna stared down at her iPod where she had sat it on the starched brown bed covering Kiera had left on the bed. After a few minutes she spoke still staring at the bed.
"But... why am I here? I can only hear and occasionally see them. I can't do anything special like anyone else here." she looked up and cocked her head to the side. Her soft dark hair fell over her shoulder. Her tongue twisted against the back of her teeth, old habit from when she use to have a tongue pierced. These places took a lot from you but that was something she didn't miss. Brown eyes moved to the floor and searched it.
"And how do they get us all here? How do they claim us all insane? And if you can do all that with your powers, why not shut down the alarms and cameras and leave?" Finally she looked back up at the girl again. So many questions were going through her head and then suddenly her fathers voice hit her in the head. 'Lyle House has been helping people like you for over 50 years, Anna. They can fix you.' she bit her tongue at the last part. She wasn't broken, she knew that now more then ever. But they didn't just have places like this in the past, only in the past 20 years have the small homes bee opening. Doctors claiming smaller homes helped the patients better then them feeling like they were in a hospital the whole time.
Quickly she grabbed her iPod and tore the head phones of of it. She turned it back on and brought up the internet. It was slow, the fact that she was getting it surprised her, it had too be from a neighbors house. Anna loaded google and typed in "Lyle House". Pages of links came up rummaging threw all the bull shit a link caught her eye.
"Sudden Deaths at Lyle Hospital" she said out loud and opened the page up. It read

October 22nd, 2008
Lyle Hospital, better known as Lyle House, found 2 people dead today and 4 other injured. Firemen and Police say it was an electric shock that caused the incident. All injured and killed had been standing on a metal door in the floor that lead to a storage area in the basement with they believe the incident occurred. No names have been released yet. All unharmed staff and patient at the hospital are shaken with the accident.

Anna read it aloud and looked at Keira
"Were you here at that time?" she asked the girl

"I am sure that your power will grow as mine has." Kiera answered as she pushed back her un-natrualy black hair.
"I have been trying to escaped as you say, but they have rigged their system to continuously scramble the codes. Picking a new one ever ten minutes but I'm beginning to understand the pattern and soon will be able to break the code and be free of this place.
"The Lyle House claims to have the best turn around for it's patience, the only thing is that no one on the outside knows that none of the children return home... ever..."
Kiera stopped and watched Anna start searching for something on her iPod and then turned away from her as she read about the deaths.
"Yes..." She finally answered as she turned back, her emotions back in check. "I was here when they died..."

Anna looked back at the screen and searched through more links.
"What really happened?" she said quietly after a few more failed links. After reading a few stories about the house getting praise to helping she finally found another one. A story that looked like it was from an older gentle man who claimed that Lyle Hospital took him in when he was 23. They ran tests on him and almost killed him. He escaped when he was 43 and wrote this. Comments below of course called in crazy among other names. One comments at the bottom caught her eye. She clicked the link that was in it, an Obituary of the man. He had died 3 days after this site was posted from unknown causes. She handed it to Kiera

Zach looked up at the ceiling of his room, wondering about various things, and eventually he wondered what it would be like if the ceiling suddenly started to dissolve. Of course, he had momentarily forgotten that he had the power to make that a reality, and the ceiling started to liquify. As the ceiling started to drip downward, Zach realized what was happening, and immediately stopped the liquification. However, the damage was already done, and the ceiling looked a lot like the ceiling of a cave, having these weird spike-like protrusions coming down - though they were small. That can't be good... I'm pretty sure that they'd notice something like that, and I don't think I can fix it either...

Kiera took it and looked at it, her eyes flaring in anger.
"it's all true... everything he says is true... and I'm sure they killed him or had one of their "controlled" teens kill him... It's possible..." She sighed and handed it back.
"There was a boy here once upon a time that had the ability to control the electricity in a human body. He could add more or take it away, though I am not sure if his powers went beyond that. He was angry one day... So angry.... They had done something to him and he didn't like it... None of us did. He just lost it finally, he went crazy and killed two of the kids staying here and injured several others, including the staff. He was taken away the next day after that and the staff have started taking pills to keep them "safe" from us..."
Kiera shook her head and sighed. "We should sleep now... We have an early day tomorrow..."
With that she flopped back onto the bed and rolled away from Anna, indicating she was done talking about it, for now anyway.

Anna took the mp3 player back into her hands and huffed as Kiera rolled over.
"Good night then..." she said sarcastically as she quietly went toward the door. Slipping her head out she checked that is was clear and made her way back to her room.
Katerva was asleep, thankfully, still. Anna crawled into her bed and lay there staring at the wall. If everything that Keira said it true she needed to get out of here and fast. But first she needed to sleep and before she knew it she was out.

- Next Day -


She was staring at her alarm clock before it even went off. The 9 flipped to an 0 and she crawled out of bed. It was 7:30, her alarm was set for 8 and she didn't feel like watching the clock for another half hour. She grabbed some clothes and started for the shower. The tang top she had wore to bed was stiff with sweat. Her nightmares last night were worse then normal for the first time since her mothers death. Pulling her top off she started to undress when she thought she felt someone there. Turned she saw the door and nothing else. It was then she realize she could not hear the moaning of the dead anymore. She put it off again for being on the top floor and the shower must have been helping. She showered, toweled off and wrapped the towel around her. She brushed her teeth and her hair before she got dressed. She pulled on a pair of black jeans that where ripped on the front of both thighs and a white Beatles Abbey Road tee over her head. Her hair was then pulled into a lose pony tail before she left the bathroom and started toward her bed again. She picked up her iTouch and started a search for Lyle house again.
She was amazed at how many deaths from unknown causes revolved around the house, and how many people were "missing". 10 minutes later, 7:57, she stood and went over too wake up Katerva.

Mrs. Talbot stopped Dr. Gill before she even got the full way into her office.
"We need to talk." Talbot looked at Gill's lap top before she pushed the doctor into her office. Dr. Gills office was different compared the other other staff's. The room was right across the hall from Talbot's room but Gill's personal office was in the back through another room. The first room, the largest, was set up for the teens group therapy. There were 2 chairs with their backs towards the door to the smaller office, while 16 other fluffy rounded chairs made a half circle around the room. There were planets in the corners and a table to the right of the door where you entered. Atop the table were different pamphlets for different mental diseases.
"Whats up?" Gill turned and looked at Mr. Talbot.
"Office." Talbot started toward the door in the back. They entered and Gill sat behind a large oak desk Talbot in a thick wooden with red seat padding that matched the desk. This room was small, black filing cabinet lined the one wall while a small rubber plant stood in the back corner along the other wall.
"You have files on the teens don't you? Didn't you think that we have a teen here that can get in there and find out stuff?" Talbot slammed her fist on the desk.
"Davidoff sent them, told me to keep them on my hospital lap top, the girl can't get into it."
"Wrong... she knows and is starting to act out. You need to delete the files now."
With that Talbot was up and out of the room before Gill could say anything more. She sighed and opened up the computer, the files were easy enough to erase. And with a few clicks they were completely gone. Gill stood , went over to her cabinet and pulled out two blank files and all the other students at the house. She got ready for group...

Kiera shot up in bed and yelped. Someone had removed vital information from a computer.
"God damn it!" She swore under her breath and she stormed into her bathroom.
Her shower was quick and before long she was out and getting dressed. She pulled on a pair of faded black cargo pants and a tight black wife beater before her favorite jacket went on over it.
She stomped back into her bedroom and growled, they were catching onto her, soon she would be whisked away just like... She stopped before she said the boy's name. Her eyes darkened in rage, she would not turn out like that, she would be free.
"Time for that B.S. called "group therapy"..." She muttered as she stormed out of her room.

Zach sat on the stairs leading up to the boy's half of the third floor, waiting to see what was happening today. He stared at the opposite side of the room, at the girl's stairs, wondering how long it took girls to get ready in the morning. I guess I'm the first one awake... Zach took a deep breath to help him stay awake. Today seemed a lot like any other day in this place, but he supposed that was to be expected. Eitherway, he needed to find a way to fix his room's ceiling and find a way to prevent staff from noticing it before then. Perhaps one of the other kids could lend me a hand...

Katreva had fallen asleep right away. She had basicly blacked out as soon as she laid out on the bed. Her dreams where nightmares when she finally came out of the drug induced sleep. She woke up in a cold sweat biting back the howl of pain and despair as she tried to remeber where she was. She didnt know where to go and how to get out so since she was scared she did the only thing she could think of, she hid. She had made the bed look like she was there and grabed a pillow and went under the bed. Soon she had gotten asleep agian, curled around the pillow with a hand over her face as if she was a dog and it was her paw. There she stayed till she came near. Her eyes where wide and she curled more under the bed, not realizing it was Anna.

'I am sure she is tired from everything.' She thought when her verbal attempts didn't wake the girl. She didn't want to touch her for fear of scaring her. She sat down on the top of her bed and grabbed her boots from the other side. She slipped them on and was tieing the laces up slowly when she heard Kiera suddenly come storming out of her room.

"Angry much?" Anna muttered to her shoe. She made her way over to the door and opened it just as Keira huffed past Anna and started down the stairs
"So what is this 'group' crap about?" she called at the girl back.

She had group sessions in other hospital, but they were never mandatory. Anna never went, they were stupid she felt. She figured this would be the same but still different in the fact she know everyone here was not here because they were 'mentally sick'. All the kids here, and everyone in the past, were here because they had powers. All of them so different but to the hospital, like all hospitals, they were just a number. Only thing here, they could kill them. It sounded as if they would too...
